The Story of
Apprentice Alley: The Wizards
As with acceptance
in other guild hall training programs, young wizards must prepare
by providing their own gear - and that requires a visit to Wizard's
Alley.
The City Series
Meshbox Design's Village series of models are extremely popular
with artists and animators. The Village Series follows a set
pattern: for example, model
1 of a Volume 1 is invariably a Watermill. The City Series differs in two
ways:
- All Urban. A great guess! The City Series assumes all models
will appear in an urban setting. The Village Series, as they progress
from Volume 1 on up, become more urban.
- Unique Pieces. A city takes on the character
of the individuals that live there. Each City Volume contain some
models that are
built around a character concept. In the Apprentice Alley series,
buildings
and pieces have special names or are associated with special
characters.
The Models
The series includes the following models...
- Aaron Barsom's Fine Wands. Aaron Barsom is a
superior creator of beautiful and functional wands, and his work
is approved by the Council of Guildhalls for
the provisioning of young wizards. Aaron Barsom's Fine Wands is
a part of the Apprentice Alley: The Wizards series of models.
- Lantham's Mantles. H. M. Lantham is an authorized
supplier of cloaks, robes, capes and head gear that have been denormalized
- that is, any common interference that is caused by small metal
components, or remnants of mortal spirits in animal products have
been removed. It is said that Lantham also has a healthy business
in magical garments as well - such as the famed cloak of invisibility.
H.M. Lantham is a high ranking member of the Honorable Guild of
Wizards.
- Jakob Kettle's Bindery. Jakob Kettle sells sturdy wizard tomes
and scrolls - including basic learning texts, first spell books
for
the pen
of
the apprentice
and number of older spell books of wizards long dead. Jakob Kettle
is a member in good standing of the Honorable Guild of Wizards.
- McGregor's Chalks and Inks. After visiting the Bindery, young
wizards pay a visit to McGregor's Chalks and Inks - a necessity
for penning new spells in spell books
and practicing elementary summonings. Dundee McGregor is a member
in good standing of the Honorable Guild of Wizards.
- Luca's Shapes and Crystals. After picking up spellbook supplies
at McGregor's - a young wizard supplies at Luca's Shapes and Crystals
for higher end spell components and crystal forms required for
casting divination and illusion spells. Alberti Luca crafts compound
shapes to instruct not only on the manipulation of light but also
for the mathmatical side of magic.
- Miller's Familiars. One of the last items on a young wizard's
shopping list is the familiar - an animal companion and servant
that runs
errands,
fetches
objects and an additional channel of power. Kelobrin Miller secures
the most brilliant animals - trained to accept a young wizard into
its life. Some say that he can even secure the lowest level of
divine and infernal familiars - yet one only finds good natured
beasts in his shop.
- The Bronze Dragon Inn. One favorite stop for
young wizards at the end of a long day is Verne Hackett's Bronze
Dragon Inn. Here
young wizards of mix and mingle, trade spells, meeting secret loves,
engage in harmless competitions and showing off their wizard's
gear. Hackett has never explained the pair of genie bottle carvings
found above the door.
- Streets and Park. The bonus model is now available! Apprentice
Alley: The Wizards - Streets and Park completes Apprentice Alley:
The Wizards Complete Edition.
