The Story of
Halloween 2007
Halloween 2007 was designed by collecting feedback of places where
Meshbox Design artists of places they associated with Halloween and
the autumn holiday season. The collection includes both lonely and
scary locations but also somewhat festive and seasonal country scenes.
The Models
The series includes the following models...
- The Gypsy Wagon. You turn a corner along a wooded
path - and there it is. A campfire heats an old cauldron nearby.
The wagon has seen many years and many roads, and its paint is
faded from the weather. Inside, the gypsy's fortune telling table
is ready, with cards and a crystal ball.
- The Old Train Car. The Old Train Car has sat outside
for many, many years, along the old train track. It is terribly
rusted
from
constant
explosure, and remains half way within the Olson Tunnel. Children
tempted to play there are frightened away by tales of ghosts that
haunt the train car - from the wreck of 1955.
- Country Round Barn. Round barns are disappearing
around the country, but they can be found along country roads.
This red
barn
features
a drive up ramp, two entries, and a spacious area filled with hay
(but usable with any plants or cattle. Included is a complete field
of plants, and individual variations of each plant! The Country
Round Barn is the perfect complement for the Vegetable Stand.
- Pumpkin and Vegetable Stand. Claire Marie Farms
sells fresh produce, straight from the field - just the place to
go to pick up your future jack-o-lantern! The pumpkin and vegetable
stand includes a fine country sign, farm style displays and a small
barn structure where the produce is sold. Claire Marie Farms Pumpkin
and Vegetable Stand is the perfect complement to the Round Country
Barn.
- The Scary Crypt. In and old and forgotten
part of the town cemetary are a row of crypts - harmless enough
by day, though sounds from within are disturbing. Few venture
past its rusted iron gate-fence after dark, for fear of….what?
The fearful lights that seem to play about inside? This crypt
is brick-stone, heavily weathered - yet its windows remain.
- The Abandoned House. Are the tales of the
old house true - of the murder? This old house is falling apart,
damaged by wind and rain. Though much is gone, there are remnants
of beauty and fine detail. Detailed texturing and overlaping
textures make this a wonderful model. Outside the house, near
the old mailbox, someone has left a jack-o-lantern. Abandoned
House makes a wonderful Haunted House.
- Covered Bridge. At one time, covered
bridges dotted many country roads, but now they have all but
disappeared. The Covered Bridge is based on the Gray's River
Covered Bridge in Southwest Washington State. Attached to the
bridge is a mid-river dock. Someone has placed a jack-o-lantern
on one end. Perfect for any era - from modern times back to legendary
Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman.
- The Witch House. In the deepest woods,
miles from town, a secret tree house was built by something wicked.
Ladders and stairs reach up to a small, two story house. On a
platform outside are the beginnings of some ritual. Inside, another
candle lit ritual takes place, with an opened spellbook nearby.
The walls are also decorated with arcane symbols.
