The Story of
World Sabaku
World Sabaku is a new science-fantasy series - based on themes
from the 1960's and 1970's of science fiction and science fantasy
television and movie themes. Here you won't find a lofty extension
of the internet, but instead find buttons, levers and heroism
on the desert planet of Sabaku.
World Sabaku Series
Meshbox Design's Village series of models are extremely popular
with artists and animators.
- Themed World. Following time honored traditions
in Science Fiction - World Sabaku is a desert planet, so all technology
and architecture are strongly themed to such a severe planet.
- 1970's Science Fiction | Science Fantasy. Before
there was an internet, there were already notions of faster than
light travel, massive space battles, paranormal powers and...dials!
World Sabaku presents a future from the perspective of the past.
The Models
The series includes the following models...
- World Sabaku Power Station. The World Sabaku
Powerstation is incredibly expandable, with external power stations
connected to a central master Power Station Tower by long, lighted
bridges - with additional portals on each side of each powerstation,
these can be "daisy chained" infinitely across a landscape!
Each tower has an open main floor, with an elevator and ladder
extending
up to the control level. On the control level, you will find a
single chamber with a rather frightening looking command chair
(complete with mind probe arrays and arm rest controls) and a work
station with three large monitors - each monitor is a sub-object,
allowing you to apply a custom texture if your software supports
it!
- World Sabaku Water Collection Station. World
Sabaku Water Collection Station is an outpost for collecting the
precious fluid and dispensing
it
to
authorized
spacecraft.
Overlooking the station is a command tower, equipt with an elevator,
command chamber with seats and modifiable televisor screens and
a separate rest area for workers off shift. This model is very
large, affording renders on catwalks, roadways, and from the
landing ledges. The command towers offer a back port for connecting
with
powerstation bridges.
- World Sabaku Plebian Apartments. World Sabaku
Plebian Apartments is a large complex that affords the underemployeed
with a place
to
live.
Shabby
and
crowded
by
empire standards, nonetheless,
each apartment includes a sleeping bench, televisor monitor,
range stove, shower, and closet/cupboard. The complex is entered
through
a large keycarded door, giving access to a large courtyard and
the four floors of apartments.
- World Sabaku Police Station. World Sabaku Police
Station is the long arm of the Empire on this desert planet. This
multi--level
complex
has
a sophsticated
command center with
full communications array. On lower levels, you can find interrogation
areas, holding cell, police locker rooms and storage areas for
heavy weaponry. There are multiple levels of armorments - pad
controlled laser cannons along the roof, and less intelligent auto-cannons
on the lower levels.
- World Sabaku Pilot's Bar. World Sabaku Pilot's
Bar is a once luxurious nightclub gone to seed and adopted as a
drinking
and meeting place for independent
space ship captains.
The common room features a stage and full bar (with stools) as
well as table and booth seating. The bar is tended by a few Handy
Drone robots, that fly about and tend drinks and man the kitchen.
The Vue version of this model has pre-lit entry lights and also "bar
lights" inside the bar. In addition, native shaders have been
applied to the drink tanks and robot visors.
- World Sabaku Space Port. World Sabaku
Space Port includes a fully functional space port, plus all props,
allowing
you to
extend
the
base model or create your own unique configuration! Passengers
enter the terminal where they pass through a weapons detector and
await their flights. They pass along corridors to individual space
port pads. Above, a control tower manages flights, and a security
station is available to handle imperial difficulties.
- World Sabaku Transport Repair Station. World Sabaku Transport
Repair Station is where you bring your personal transport vehicle
for
a quick
charge
or
a fix
up.
Just
plug right into one of the two charge stations, or drive around
back to get into one of the robot manned repair bays. An air conditioned
customer waiting room is available.
- World Sabaku Medical Response Center. World
Sabaku Medical Response Center is a place where almost any wound
can be healed - if you have credits. A large and confortable reception
room awaits the wealthy, and quality time spent in either a healing
booth or better yet - a healing tank!.
